Information and Disclaimers
A New Dark Age
Rating: FRM
Pairing: Watcher/Slayer
Spoiler: Chosen, sort of. Timeline: far, far in the future.
Summary: There are some things out there you just don't want to meet
Author's Note: This is the second story in my 'Once more with Demons' universe. The first story was called 'In Every Generation'
and it described a typical day in the life of a Slayer a thousand years after the fall of the First Evil. Many people who read it demanded
to know more about Angel One, the Slayer and her Watcher, whose code name is Warlock. You asked for it, you got it! :-)
All Mimsy were the Borogoves
Rating: FRT
Spoilers: None Really.
Pairing: Just Giles.
Summary: Giles is Lost.
SEQUEL:
Gyring and Gimbling
Rating: FRT
Spoilers: None Really.
Pairing: Just Giles.
Summary: The Head of the Council goes home for the weekend.
Author's Note: This is a 'day in the life' type tale, a mimiscal interlude in the life of Rupert Giles after his adventures in
Looking Glass house and the defeat of the First. It's intended as a sequel to 'All Mimsy were the Borogroves,' and if you haven't read
that first, it might not make a lot of sense.
Anamneses
Rating: FRT
Pairing: Giles/Olivia
Spoilers: None Really. But set sometimes after 'Hush'
Summary: Sometimes, she thinks of him.
Author's Notes: She's working as a fashion photographer. Just in case you wondered. I sat through a long an technically complicated
meeting today. Then I came home and wrote this. I have no idea if the two things are related, or not . :-)
Don't Feed The Plants
Rating: FRT
Pairing: Buffy/Angel, Willow/Giles
Spoilers: Set sometimes early Season 2.
Summary: In Sunnydale, even gardening can be hazardous to your health.
Thanks: Thanks to Ann, for all the helpful comments and appropriate encouragement. :-)
Author's Notes: Warning: There's blood. And violence. And gardening tips. Note to self: Watching 'Little Shop of Horrors' late at
night can be detrimental to one's muses!
Additional Disclaimer: Audrey-II was originally cultivated by Roger Corman before being set to music by Howard Ashman.
England Expects
Rating: FRT
Spoilers: None Really.
Summary: Giles is going to be awarded an OBE.
In Each Generation
Rating: FRM
Summary: The War Goes On [Far far future]
Author's Notes: I have no idea where this came from, although I was watching the Babylon 5 Movie 'The Legend of the Rangers'
earlier today. Guess something must have sparked this off! *.* is for emphasis. {.} denotes thought.
Ontogenesis
Rating: FRT
Pairing: Buffy/Giles; Buffy/Riley moments.
Spoilers: Up to and including Dracula. Timeline: start of the fifth season.
Summary: An injury brings Buffy closer to Giles.
Thanks: Lots of them to Gail, who provided extremely useful comments and helped me wrestle this into shape.
Author's Notes: The 'Immortals' are not a real band. They came to life in a novel I wrote a few years ago (and in which Tansy
Morgan's disappearance is explained.) I didn't know she knew Giles back then. I do now! *.* is for emphasis. {.} denotes thought and [.]
implies translation from another language. Don't do this at home. If anything like this happens to you, go to the hospital!
Out Of Africa
Rating: FRM This is a horror story. There are some nasty moments in it.
Pairing: Buffy/Angel references.
Spoilers: Roughly up to 'Earshot'
Summary: An ancient Evil comes to Sunnydale.
Thanks: Many of them to Michelle, who agreed to read this.
Author's Notes: Some of the incantations used here are paraphrases of actual paraphrases of actual Egyptian texts - that is, a
modern translations of those texts. They are not, nor are they intended to be, genuine rituals!
The Practically Perfect Series
Part 1: Special Delivery
Rating: FRC
Pairing: Buffy/Giles
Spoilers: None in particular.
Summary: Giles receives a gift.
Author's Notes: This is in answer to Gileswench's Monday Mini-challenge #71: The ASHBLF of your choice and a handbag. I'm not
sure if this quite fits the requirements, but once the idea got into my head I couldn't shake it out again.
Part 2: Winter Gifts
Rating: FRC
Pairing: Buffy/Giles
Spoilers: Roughly mid-season five, although it goes its own sweet way from there.
Summary: Giles gives Buffy an early birthday present.
Author's Notes: This is a follow up to my story 'Special Delivery' in which Giles inherits his Grandmother Mary's rather special
abilities. It was written in response to Gileswench's Mini-Challenge #71: Winter. Tell me about snow and sleet and cozy fires. I want
cold, I want winter, and I want it now!
Part 3: Helping The Medicine Go Down
Rating: FRC
Pairing: Buffy/Giles for the series; but not in this bit.
Spoilers: None Really.
Summary: A young Rupert Giles is spending the weekend with his grandparents.
Thanks With grateful thanks to Ann, who helped me sort out some of the back story. :-)
Author's Note: This is brief vignette set in the 'Practically Perfect' world of 'Special Delivery' and 'Winter Gifts'.
Part 4: Step in Time
Pairing: Buffy/Giles
Summary: The morning after the Christmas Eve before. Santa’s not the only visitor used to climbing down chimneys.
Author's Notes: This is a follow up to ‘Winter Gifts’, and is another tale in the 'Practically Perfect’ Universe, in which Giles
turns out to be Mary Poppin’s grandson and inherits her powers. This one is all Ann’s fault.
Part 5: Tugging On Kite Strings
Rating: FRC
Pairing: Buffy/Giles.
Spoilers: None Really.
Summary: Giles calls his father. They talk.
Thanks: To Ann for making me work at it a little harder, even if it meant posting it late.
Author's Note: This is a little vignette in the 'Practically Perfect' Universe, in which Giles turns out to be Mary Poppin's
grandson. It follows the events described in 'Step in Time' and takes place on Christmas day.
Seconds
Rating: FRC
Pairing: Buffy/Giles-ish
Spoilers: Up to The Zeppo.
Summary: A few seconds during an apocalypse.
Author's Notes: I was watching the Zeppo, and wondered what Giles had done, that Buffy thought was so brave.
Seeking Sanctuary
Rating: FRT
Pairing: Buffy/Giles
Spoilers: A slight variation on season six.
Summary: Buffy is troubled, lost and drowning in despair. There is only one place left for her to go.
Thanks: To Gail, for taking time out to read this when I know she has a great many other things to do.
Author's Notes: Oddly enough this was actually inspired by a photo manipulation I was working on - I was fooling around and giving
Giles a beard to see what he might look like with one. Then I added a background. And Buffy. After which the whole thing took on a life
of its own … The story is based on the idea that, after Buffy died and Giles went back to England, he sought escape from guilt and memory
in the most remote place he could find. Which meant that Willow was unable to contact him when she called to let him know that Buffy was
back. I'm not sure about when the events of Season Six were supposed to take place, but the picture and the story demanded this occur
mid-winter, with the world moving towards spring. So that's when it's set. For those that may be interested, the picture can be found at:

Slight Miscalculation
Rating: FRT
Pairing: Giles/Glory
Spoilers: Through end of Season 5 "The Gift".
Summary: She’s a hellgod. They don’t just lie down and die …
Author's Notes: This little drabble plot bunny bit me while I was in a rather boring meeting. Bad, bad, plot bunny...
Who Watch You Fall
Rating: FRM (for strong language)
Pairing: Giles/Spike friendship.
Spoilers: Through end of Season 5 "The Gift".
Summary: Living after loss can be hard. Even for the dead …
Thanks: Thanks to Ann, who provided valuable comment and suitable murmurings of encouragement.
Author's Notes: This was written for Headrush100’s ficathon, with inspiration words picked from a proffered list. My words were:
lifted, book, weakness, ordinary, offer, relief. They’re all in there. Somewhere.
Additional Disclaimer: The title is taken from a poem by Siegfried Sassoon, which is quoted in full at the end of the tale.
