Author's notes: This fic is from the point of view of Bex Giles. In this AU, Ripper never went back to the council. He had a daughter, who he raised largely alone. Eyghon didn't happen. Angelus and Dru are long dead, and Spike is gay. He met Ripper in a club where his band were playing, and fell in love. While nothing romantic ever happened, Spike allowed Ripper to put a curse on him with similar effects to the chip. Ripper's band made it big, with Spike on guitar. Bex, Giles' daughter, was called as the Slayer, and Merrick was her watcher. He was killed and Wesley sent in his place. Starting to feel like a useless old git now his daughter is 23 years old and he's still single, Ripper does a spell to bring him the woman who is his destiny - Buffy is brought to him, and they marry on her 18th birthday. At the point where this fic begins, Buffy and Ripper have been married for four years. If you wish to read some of this back-story, I'll dig out the URLs. Andrew in this case is not the one from the series, he's the band's bass player. The name is co-incidence.
